Virulence score of selected Tn 5 mutants in rice. Five week old susceptible rice cultivar Co-39 plantlets were inoculated using a 1 ml syringe with 100 μl of the following Pfv strains: Pfv UPB0736 (WT), Pfv 80, Pfv 90, Pfv 102, Pfv 169, Pfv 188, Pfv 270, Pfv 420, Pfv 445 and Pfv 480. 0.15 M saline solution was used as negative control. Data for rating score and lesion lengths were taken 8 days post inoculation. A. Disease severity based on rating score.
