Activity of the ethanolic extract of propolis on the wall and membrane of C. albicans (ATCC 14065). The yeasts were stained with calcofluor-white and propidium iodide and visualized by confocal microscopy at 100Ɨ total magnification. Calcofluor-white dye was viewed at a wavelength of 450Ā nm, and propidium iodide was viewed at 580Ā nm. First observation column at 450Ā nm; second observation column at 580Ā nm; third observation column is the merge of the 2 wavelengths. aĀ Control (fetal bovine serum 500Ā Āµl).; bĀ negative control (with fetal bovine serum 500Ā Āµl and 28Ā Āµl 70% ethanol).; cĀ ethanolic extract of propolis 1.0Ā mg/ml; dĀ ethanolic extract of propolis 2.0Ā mg/ml
