A significant decrease in hemolytic activity was found with a) metformin, b) NAC, and c) secnidazole-treated isolates. The hemolytic activity of the drug-free supernatant was considered as 100% hemolysis (control), and the percentage of hemolysis in presence of 1/8 MIC of metformin, NAC, and secnidazole were calculated as compared to the control. The OD values of the treated strains were expressed as a percentage of the OD values compared with the untreated control strain. The data shown are the means ± standard errors of three biological experiments with three technical replicates each. *, significant P < 0.05
