Significant reduction of protease production was found with a) metformin, b) NAC, and c) secnidazole-treated isolates. OD600 was measured following overnight culturing of bacteria in LB broth in the presence and absence of 1/8 MIC of tested isolates followed by incubation of supernatants with skim milk for 30 min at 37 °C. The OD values of the treated strains were expressed as a percentage of the OD values compared with the untreated control strain. The data shown are the means ± standard errors of three biological experiments with three technical replicates each. *, significant P < 0.05
