The effect of exogenous PUFAs on motility of E. coli. Soft agar motility plates were prepared, supplemented with 300 μM of the appropriate fatty acid or absence thereof (after cooling to 55 °C). 1 μL of inoculum (OD600 = 0.1) was pipetted into motility plates and observed after 12 h incubation at 30 °C.
