Survival curve data demonstrating that E. coli FBR5 has lower ethanol tolerance than its MG1655 ancestor. E. coli strains MG1655 and FBR5 were grown for 120 min in LB containing 16.5% (v/v) ethanol, and viable cell counts were conducted at specific time points during that incubation period.
