Loss of hepP significantly enhanced the survival of C. elegans infected with PA14. Adult worms were infected with wild type PA14, PA14ΔhepP, or PA14ΔzbdP and their survival was monitored daily for 5 d. Worms fed on E. coli OP50 were used as the control.
