Adhesion of LAB20 to epithelial cell lines. Adhesion (%) of 3H-labeled L. acidophilus LAB30 to 3-, 8-, and 21-day-old Caco-2 and HT-29 cells was measured. The results of five technical replicates (parallel wells) from the representative experiment are expressed as means ± standard deviations. Significant reduction (p < 0.05) in adhesion compared to different aged IECs is indicated with an asterix.
