Expression of a tep1::lacZ fusion was measured in S. meliloti GR4 harbouring pMTR4 in TY medium, minimal medium (MM), and MM supplemented with either 5 mM glucosamine (GA) or 5 mM N-acetyl glucosamine (NAGA). Mean values and standard errors (95% confidence) were calculated from three independent experiments.
