Electron spin resonance spectroscopy on particles collected after treatment with enzymes, denaturant, and hot acid from W. dermatitidis strains A] 8656, B] wdpks1 Δ-1, and C] wdpks1 Δ-1-501 grown for 10 days in YPD medium at 37°C. The spectra wdpks1 Δ-1 is noisy because of the higher amplitude setting used to detect the weaker signal generated by the isolated melanin-like material.
