Previous heat shock treatment attenuated the inhibitory effect of quercetin on viral infection. MARC-145 cells were heated (+HS) or not (-HS) at 8 hours before infection. Cells were infected at an MOI of 0.1 and treated with DMSO or Qct as indicated. Mock-infected cells were untreated. (A) Cells were harvested at 24 h.p.i for Western blotting analysis. The levels of HSP70 and viral N protein were quantified by measuring band intensities and normalized with respect to the amount of β-actin. (B) The culture supernatants were collected and viral titers were determined by calculating CCID50. Data are mean ± SD, n = 3. *p < 0.05, **p < 0.01, ***p < 0.001.
