Increased intracellular ATP levels in Hp deprived of CO 2 or treated with rifampicin. Hp 26695 was cultured in liquid media for 0.5 or 2 h under various gas conditions in the absence or presence of rifampicin. Intracellular ATP levels were determined by luciferase assay. Results are expressed as mean ± SD of triplicate cultures. Data shown are representative of five experiments performed without rifampicin and two experiments performed with rifampicin.
