Biofilm formation of the wild-type and the two mutant strains in medium containing various sugars. Addition of mannose and resulted in no biofilm production by the transposon mutant and strong biofilm production by the wild-type and the deletion mutant TDM. All strains produced strong biofilm when 1% fructose was added to the medium. Biofilm formation was reduced in 1% sucrose fro all strains and no biofilm was seen in medium containing trehalose or lactose.
