Growth curves of E. faecalis T9 (diamonds), 10D5 (squares), and TDM (triangles) in BFM (a), BFM-G (b), and BFM-M (c). The OD₅₉₅ after 18 h of incubation was comparable for the different strains in medium without additional sugars and in medium supplemented with 1% glucose. The wild-type strain and the transposon mutant grew equally well in medium containing 1% maltose, while the triple deletion mutant grew significantly less.
