Measurement of persister cells in clinical staphylococcal isolates. Cells grown to exponential phase (a, c, e, g, i and k) and stationary growth phase (b, d, f, h, j and l) were exposed to each antibiotic (20 × MIC for exponential and for stationary growth phase). At designated time points, cells were harvested, washed with PBS and plated for the CFUs count after 24 h of incubation.
