Frequency plots represents the distribution of aggregate sizes at day − 2 (c), day 0 (d) and day 5 (e). Bars represent size intervals and are logarithmically distributed up to 104 µm2. NP (non-present) marks intervals where no aggregates were identified. Data is presented as mean of log10 frequency ± SD (n = 3). Number of events in each experiment > 100. Significant differences between planktonic and cording phenotype are indicated with **(p ≤ 0.01), or ***(p ≤ 0.001) as determined by multiple t-tests with Holm-Sidak correction for multiple testing.
