Confocal microscopic observation (a) and flow cytometric analysis (b) of J774.1 cells that phagocytosed L. gasseri OLL2809. After cultivation for 24 h in the presence of fluorescein-4-isothiocyanate (FITC)-labelled L. gasseri OLL2809 (green), J774.1 cells were labelled with Cell Mask™ Deep Red (red) and observed under a confocal microscope (a). The right and below panel showed x-z and y-z stacks at the yellow lines. After incubation for 48 h in the absence (black) or in the presence of fluorescein-4-isothiocyanate (FITC)-labelled L. gasseri OLL2809 (red), the J774.1 cells were labelled with allophycocyanin conjugated anti-F4/80 antibody and analysed by flow cytometry (b)
