Cross-talk between non-cognate pairs VraS-LiaR (a) and LiaS-VraR (b). Phosphorylated VraS (or LiaS) at 5 μM was added to LiaR (or VraR) at 25 μM. The reaction mixtures were incubated at different time intervals at room temperature. The reactions were stopped by adding the SDS-PAGE loading dye. Samples were resolved by a 15% SDS-PAGE. The gels were exposed to a phosphor screen and imaged by a Typhoon Trio+ imager
