Identification of C. burnetii SCV enriched lipids. PldA hydrolyzes a variety of phospholipids that contain a polar head group and acyl-chains containing 14 or more carbons at the sn-1 or sn-2 position [20, 21]. a Hydrolysis of a phospholipid acyl chain at the sn-1 position to produce a lyso-phospholipid and a free fatty acid. b Rf values were compared to purchased standards. All samples were run on the same TLC plate with the image split to exclude irrelevant samples.
