  1. Erinacine C was provided to S. mutans at 5 μg/ml final concentration, and MIP at 2.5 μg/ml final concentration. S. sanguinis is a specific indicator stain for mutacin IV, and Lactococcus lactis for mutacin V. See Methods for details on overlay assay. The area of the zone of inhibition was calculated and the data are mean and standard deviation of three biological replicates
