Persister cells from biofilms treated with combinations of antibiotics. Strains USA300 LAC, msaABCR deletion mutant, and the complementation were allowed to form biofilm on intravenous catheters for 24 h and then treated with combined antibiotics. a. daptomycin/rifampicin (80× MIC), b. vancomycin/rifampicin (40× MIC), c. linezolid/rifampicin (320× MIC), d. daptomycin/gentamicin (40× MIC), e. vancomycin/gentamicin (20× MIC), f. linezolid/gentamicin (20× MIC). These results represent the means of three independent experiments performed in triplicate. Error bars represent SE.
