Various acids inhibit growth of G. vaginalis and N. gonorrhoeae on PVM. RPMI was pH-adjusted with lactic acid, acetic acid or hydrochloric acid (HCl) and placed under transwells containing PVM explants. Bacteria were enumerated 48 h post-colonization.
