Identification of a UDP-GlcNAc transporter (TcNST1) of T. cruzi by in vivo complementation assays. K. lactis mutant (Kl3) cells were transfected with TcNST1, the K. lactis UDP-GlcNAc transporter (Kl UGT, positive control) or empty vector (pE4, negative control). Wild-type K. lactis cells were included in the analysis for comparison. Cells were grown as described in the Methods section.
