Cytokine induction in the lungs of AO3 or AR39 infected mice. Group mice were infected with AO3 or AR39, or mock infected, and euthanized at designated time points as described in figure four and the Methods section. Removed lung were homogenized and the lung homogenates were assayed for cytokines IL-6 (a), TNF-α (b), IL-1β (c), IL-10 (d), IP-10 (e) and IFN-β (f) by ELISA. Each data point represents one mouse.
