  1. a) Drug and fatty acid components were applied at given ratios above and dissolved in 10.0 ml ethanol to produce the specific coating solutions with 5 % mass (w/w). b) Octenidine content of coated sutures after preparation. The mean coating weight of 40 cm suture samples were determined at 2.2 ± 0.2 mg (n = 7). Weights on coated sutures for octenidine, fatty acid carrier and normalized mean drug weight per cm thread are given above
