Phylogenetic tree inferred from BI-1 amino acid sequences. Minimum evolution analysis was carried out using the neighbor-joining method and bootstrap replicated 1,000 times. BI-1 protein sequences of phytoplasmas, acholeplasmas, bacteria, plants and animals were retrieved from NCBI GenBank. The GenBank accession number of each sequence is given in parenthesis.
