There are 15, 15, 16, 19, and 28 protein-coding genes in P. chlamydosporia, M. anisopliae, F. oxysporum, H. jecorina, and N. crassa, respectively. Size comparisons indicate that the larger the mitogenomes are primarily due to larger intergenic regions, secondarily to introns, and to a lesser extent to longer coding regions.Back to article page
