The H-NS protein represses the ygeH gene at 37°C in strain 042. Immunodetection of YgeH::3xFLAG in strains 042YgeH3X (YgeH::3xFLAG) and its isogenic mutant derivate 042YgeH3XHNS (YgeH::3XFLAG Δhns). Cultures were grown in LB medium at 37°C and samples were respectively collected at the logarithmic and onset of the stationary phase (OD₆₀₀ of 0.4 and 2.0). Whole cell lysates (5 μg) were resolved by 12.5% SDS-PAGE. The YgeH::3xFLAG protein was detected using the monoclonal anti-FLAG antibody. The GapdH protein was used as a protein loading control in western blot analysis and was detected using the monoclonal anti-GapdH antibody. The values shown under the strain name represent the relative amount of protein found in the mutant strains as compared to the wt strain (set as 1).
