Effect of growth-phase, temperature, hns and ihf mutations on ygeH::lacZ expression. β-galactosidase activity of the ygeh::LacZ fusion was determined in E. coli strain AAG1 (A) and in different genetic backgrounds (B and C) grown under either different temperatures or growth media. Samples were obtained at the log and the onset of the stationary growth phases (O.D.600 of 0.4 and 2.0, respectively). Standard errors from three independent experiments are shown.
