Ceramide enrichment of the plasma membrane of Huh-7w7/mCD81 cells inhibits HCV entry and increases association of CD81 with TEMs. A, Huh-7w7/mCD81 cells were pretreated (+Smase) or not (-Smase) with Smase prior to infection with HCVcc or HCVpp 2a. At 2 days post-infection, cells were lysed and processed as described in methods. P < 0.05 as calculated by the Mann-Whitney's test.
