Northern analysis of transcription for analysis of light response of lim1. Transcription was analyzed in constant darkness (preculture, DD) and after illumination (1800 lux, 25 μmol photons m-2s-1) for 15, 30 or 45 minutes in the wild-type strain QM9414 and a strain lacking the PAS-domain of the light regulatory protein ENVOY (Schmoll et al., 2005). Strains were cultivated on conventional Mandels Andreotti minimal medium with 1% (w/v) glycerol as carbon source. 20 μg of total RNA were loaded per lane, a hybridization with 18S rRNA is given as a loading control.
