Morphology of B1940 and B1940ΩpriA meningococci. Meningococcal strains B1940 and B1940ΩpriA were grown to late (1.0 OD600 nm) logarithmic phase and observed by scanning electron microscopy. Note that priA-inactivation does not affect the typical diplococcal, coffee bean-shaped morphology of meningococci.
