Effect of specifics antibodies and sodium metaperiodate (SM) on the inhibitory activity of sIgA, fSC and Lf on the wild type S, flexneri invasion (A) and S. flexneri BS176 adhesion (B). Invasion and adhesion of S. flexneri on HeLa incubated, white bars, or not incubated, black bars, to milk proteins. The inhibitory activity of the sIgA, fSC and Lf was lost when incubated with anti-SC or anti-Lf (dots bars) or metaperiodate (vertical lines bars). Data presented are means ± standard deviations of three separate experiments in triplicate.
