Identification of natural Lepp12 (nLepp12) in promastigotes. Five micrograms of GST-Lepp12 (rLepp12, lane 1) used as positive control, or GST (lane 2) or GST-papLe22 (rpapLe22, lane 3) used as negative controls, or 15 microg of leishmanial proteins (total promastigote lysate in SDS 3%, lane 4) were electrophorezed and electrotransfered onto nitrocellulose. Western blotting was performed with anti-Lepp12 antibodies (at 2 microg/ml) immunopurified on Lepp12-coated latex beads from an acute phase VL patient serum, which was previously absorbed with 0.5 ml of E. coli lysate. Molecular mass markers are indicated in kDa.
