Tsr residues 297, 304, 311, 493 are known sites for methylation by CheR [60, 61] B: ClustalW alignment of McpG with the consensus sequence for the HAMP domain. The consensus sequence was obtained from the SMART collection of conserved domains http://smart.embl-heidelberg.de/. The program Macboxshade (MD Baron, Institute for Animal Health, Surrey, UK) was used to visualize the alignments. Yellow shaded residues are identical while similar residues are shaded green.
