Body weight changes of different mouse inbred strains after oral infection with 5 × 109 CFU Lmo-EGD-lux and Lmo-InlA-mur-lux. Ten female C3HeB/FeJ, A/J OlaHsd, BALB/cJ, and C57BL/6J mice were intragastrically infected with 5 × 109 CFU Lmo-EGD-lux (grey graphs) or Lmo-InlA-mur-lux (black graphs). Body weight changes were monitored daily over 14 days. The weight loss on the day of infection, day 0, is due to overnight starving of the mice. After intragastric infection challenge mice had again access to food ad libitum. Data are representative of two independent experiments with groups of 10 mice per inbred mouse strain. Data represent means ± SEM, *p < 0.05; **p < 0.01; ***p < 0.001.
