The overexpression of mce2R decreases the arrest of phagosome maduration. A. LAMP-2 association of M. tuberculosis H37Rv, Mt∆mce2R, Mt∆mce2RComp and MtΔmce2-containing phagosome. J774 macrophages were infected with M. tuberculosis strains for 1 h, washed and incubated for additional 2 h in RPMI media. Phagosomal LAMP-2 was detected using an appropriate antibody (red) and the bacteria were stained with FITC (green). The cells were analyzed by confocal microscopy and in the Merge box is observed the bacteria-LAMP2 association. Scale bars: 10 μm. B. Quantification of that observed in A).
