Cultures were grown to mid-exponential phase in YNB medium, and ten-fold serial dilutions were spotted onto YNB plates supplemented with acetic acid. All plates were incubated at 30°C for 48 h. (B) Survival curve of Wt (■) and gup1∆ (∆) cultures during acetic acid treatment. Exponential cells were treated with 160 mM acetic acid for 180 min and viability determined by c.f.u. at the indicated time points (100% survival corresponds to the total c.f.u. at time zero).
