Fur and Fnr control transcription of hmpA. (A) The transcriptional hmpA-lacZ activity was determined in 14028s and Δfur under anaerobic conditions. The iron chelator 2, 2' dipyridyl (dip) was used at 200 μM; and (B) β-galactosidase activity was measured in Δfnr and ΔfurΔfnr backgrounds under anaerobic conditions - the best-fit lines are shown.
