White columns correspond to the percentage of uncoated beads internalized when the assay was carried out incubating cells first with the peptide and then with uncoated latex beads. Striped columns correspond to the percentage of internalized beads when cells were incubated only with uncoated beads. Inset: latex beads internalized by A549 cells observed with fluorescence microscopy.
